Eligibility Criteria for NCC 56 Special Entry Scheme

  • Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen, subject of Bhutan or Nepal, a Tibetan refugee who settled in India before January 1, 1962, or a person of Indian origin from specific countries intending to permanently reside in India. Certain categories may require eligibility certification from the Government of India, except for Gorkha community members from Nepal.
  • Age Limit: Ages 19 to 25 as of July 1, 2024 (birth dates between July 2, 1999, and July 1, 2005). Age verification is based on the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate or equivalent.
  • Educational Qualification: A degree from a recognized university with a minimum 50% aggregate, including final year students who meet the aggregate criteria. Additionally, a minimum service period in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC and a ‘B’ grade in the NCC ‘C’ Certificate Exam is required.Wards of Battle Casualties: Specific provisions exist for unmarried children of Army personnel who were casualties in battle. These candidates follow the same educational criteria, but holding an NCC ‘C’ certificate is not mandatory.
